A History of Two Clubs
The first of two greens at Woodland Park opened in 1933. The Woodland
Park Lawn Bowling Club was established in 1934 and took over management
of the green from Parks in 1935. A division among membership led to
establishment of the Queen City Lawn Bowling Club in 1940, and the two
clubs shared the green for 22 contentious years. In 1952, Queen City won
exclusive control of the lease and the official club name. In 1993, the board of
trustees voted to change the name back to Woodland Park Lawn Bowling
Club to better reflect the actual location of the Club.

The following file is a spiral-bound book created in 1987 by Harry and Jane Itzkow documenting the history of the Queen City Lawn Bowling Club, the first 25 years (1940-1965). This was converted to a PDF file. Click the image or link to open the file.
Club Photo Album
A club member created a photo album documenting club activities over the years. Lots of photos of lawn bowling events and parties. There are also some photos of the fire that occurred on January 31, 1996 that destroyed the original clubhouse. They the club continued to bowl in front of the burned out building.
