Note that some of the items have logos specific to a sport and some feature just the main WPLBC logo. Credit card, PayPal and Apple Pay is accepted and 100% of all profits go back to the club.

Website Updates

Did a little updating to the website by adding an “About” menu item at the top. Clicking on this link takes to information about contacting WPLBC, the club location and information on the public open play dates and times. I also added a “Sports” menu item that replaces the three separate menu options for each sport.

In addition I added a history page with various articles about the club and scans of historical documents and a photo album.

Let’s count our blessings when we contrast the difference between 9/2022 and 9/25

Can it have been only 3 years ago? Some members might not want to see this, but our club was an island amidst turbulence not so long ago during the Covid days, and it’s quite jolting to see the chaos that was Woodland Park in September, 2022.

Homesteading a public restroom! An ambulance call for a drug overdose right outside the upper green gate! Weekly storage shed break-ins! Needles and syringes anywhere and everywhere, including a gallon jar nearly full of used needles 10 ft from the bocce gate! ! Fresh restroom graffiti almost weekly if not daily! These photos I took illustrate the scene around WPLBC.

Riconosciuto Bocce Tournament 2025 Results

The results of another successful fun Riconosciuto bocce event are in. Eleven 4-person teams competed on Saturday, July 27th. Pool play, then all advanced to a singe elimination championship round with the top 4 teams in the money. Two Oregon teams participated with the rest being local teams with some new faces.

Champions: Went undefeated. Working for the weekend consisting of Vinnie Moore, Ben Mitiero, Jon Eply & Rick Cervie.
Runner ups: Team Henry consisting of Pat, Chris, Brian and Amanda Henry
Third: Bre, Jeff Johnson, Steve & Robert
Fourth: Glen, Gerry, Greg & Carlo

Fun day with lots of very competitive games.

Thanks to all that helped out with the set-up and take-down, and clubhouse clean up, always a very big help.

WPLBC Featured in Seattle Times

The WPLBC was recently featured in the Seattle Times Pacific NW Magazine section. The story includes a history of the Woodland Park Lawn Bowling Club and describes how people are embracing the laid-back atmosphere and social nature of these games, which include bocce, croquet, and lawn bowls.

Work Party – June 2024

A work party was assembled on June 1st to do early season cleanup. It was very well attended. In addition to the normal clubhouse cleaning and weeding we upgraded bocce court #4 by laying plastic court bed tiles as a base for the court.
